I made my way down to Seven Springs, Pennsylvania to cover the Burton US Open Snowboarding Qualifiers. The US Open helps athletes make it to the elite level. This competition featured one Halfpipe event and one Slopestlye event.

Accommodations
I was staying at The Belsar Inn, a "home away from home" in Somerset, PA, off of route 76, located about 14 miles from Seven Springs Mountain. My room had a very homey feel with a private bath and a king size bed.

My host was very welcoming and I had many great conversations with her. The complimentary breakfast each morning was very good. This inn has four guest rooms, a big screen TV in the living room, and a nice sitting room with a fireplace. Room rates are very reasonable, starting at $75.00 and going up to $125.00 a night (all including breakfast). For a reservation, call (814) 279-3105 tell them you read about them in Ski Bum News.
